- Kunst in der Kluterthöhle 2008 (Ausschreibung engl.)

“Cave-Art“ in the Klutert-Cave in Ennepetal from 11th, of April until 4th, of May 2008

It is planned to show sculptures, objects and installations in the Klutert-Cave – a location in whose most peculiar atmosphere a special kind of relationship of tension may be created between culture and nature and therefore may develop a certain attraction as a show-room for arts. It is planned to organize an exhibition with artworks of up to 40 artists.

Organizers are the town-administration of Ennepetal and the art-group “Kunstraum”. The Klutert-Cave being a sheltered nature-preserve with a very sensitive ecological system requests special exhibits and presentation.

Exhibits, whose consisting materials (for example like organic or corroding materials or poisonous varnish) may damage the cave-climate or whose installation need high technical effort (for example fixing of artwork at the cave-walls) cannot be allowed.

Because of the high humidity in the cave artwork on paper, photos or exhibits consisting of wood may be damaged and should not be used.

Interested artists are kindly requested to send their applications (including: 1. a description of one or two projects in form of sketches, photo-works or videos; 2. if possible one or two certain chosen locations in the cave; 3. an artists vita, address, phone number, e-mail-adress; 4. an envelope with return postage) to: Kulturbereich der Stadt Ennepetal, Rathaus, Bismarckstraße 21, 58256 Ennepetal until December, 31^st, 2007.

All applications will be judged by a jury which decision cannot be disputed. The jury will meet approximately in the middle of January Chosen applicants will be invited to take part in the exhibition and getting further information about the building up and removing of the exhibits.

The organizers of the “Cave-Art-Exhibition” are not responsible for any costs according to transport, installation and removing.

A chance to visit the location of the exhibition will be given on November, 16^th, and November, 30^th, 2007. Interested artists are requested to make an appointment.
